Waltraut "Bobbie" Criger was born on August 5, 1927 in Germany.

Bobbie met Don Criger while he was stationed in Germany after the end of WWII. She was working at the military post exchange. They had made plans to get married but Don received orders to got to Korea as the war began.

Bobbie and Don were married on October 10, 1953 in Springfield, Missouri. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1962 and began raising a family.

Bobbie was known for her wonderful cooking, something Don greatly appreciated. Bobbie enjoyed making meals for her family and friends.

Bobbie helped Don in his cabinetry business for a number of years. She also helped with cleaning and maintenance at the church.

Bobbie passed away on April 24, 2026 at the Bethesda Home in Beresford.

She is survived by her sons, Donald, Jr. and Jim (Deb); grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don in 2001; two sons, Peter Baumgart and Ralph Criger.
