Virginia McDowell

Virginia was born on March 15, 1925 in Nashville, IL the daughter of Herman and Eva (Brown) Kraft. She grew up at Nashville and graduated from high school in 1943. After graduation, she moved to Sioux Falls and married Jon McDowell on June 5, 1943. They had three children, Bob, Mary and Suzanne. 

Virginia worked at Best Products, also known as LaBelles, for over 10 years. Jon enjoyed craft work and Virginia painted his projects. They sold their projects at many craft shows over the years. She loved attending her children's and grandchildren's events. Virginia had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. She was 93 years old when she passed away on July 21, 2018 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls.

Virginia is survived by her children, Bob (Sue) McDowell, Mary Jerke and Suzanne (Dan) Lathrop; grandchildren, Rob (Allison) McDowell, Amy (Wayne) Graham, Jennifer (Robert) Spradlin, Jessica (Kirby) Williams, Sandy (Mark) Bishop, and Seth Lathrop; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Huge and Doris McConnell; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jon; parents, Otto and Eva; 3 sisters, Betsy Nobles, Hazel Fey and Vera Stalcup; 3 brothers, Paul Brown, Floyd Kraft and Lloyd Kraft.
