Steve was born on January 29, 1964 in Sioux Falls, the son of Charles and Sharon (Gravning) Arens. He grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School. Steve married Theresa Lund.

Steve worked for several businesses in Sioux Falls; John Morell, Gateway Computers, Novak Sanitation and Sweetman Construction where he was a ready-mix truck driver.

Steve loved spending time with his family, especially going out to eat. He enjoyed playing video games and board games and drawing complex mazes for his family to solve. Steve liked being outside enjoying nature.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his children, Kayleigh (Tony) Koutsarath, Kaitlynn Arens, Derek Arens, Patrick Lund and Melinda Lund; two grandchildren, Tristan and Silas Koutsarath; brother and sister, Jerry Arens and Kristy (Sam) Lund; aunts and uncles, Shirley Olson-Kuehl, Lucy Bowling and Marlyn Gravning; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gary, and his first wife, Sandy.
