Steve Cordell

Stephen Francis Cordell of Bruce, South Dakota passed away on December 24^th, 2020 at Avera Mckennan Hospital at the age of 65 surrounded by family. Steve was born in Watertown, SD on August 17^th, 1955 to Martin and Jessie (Gosmire) Cordell. Steve grew up in Watertown, SD where he took home two state wrestling championships until he graduated in 1973.

He enjoyed operating his small business, spending time with his family, long phone calls and drinking Mt. Dew. He took pride in working with his hands whether it was for himself or others. It didn’t take much convincing to have him show up to lend a helping hand.

Steve will be lovingly missed by his 3 children Jacob Cordell of Hillsboro, MO, Jensi Cordell of St Edwards, NE, and Matthew (Kayla) Cordell of Watertown, SD; 8 grandchildren Trent & Logan Cordell of Sioux Falls, SD, Kamryn, Danni & Charli of Watertown, SD and Jasmine, Blake & Andrew of St Edward, NE; 7 siblings Edward (Vicky) Cordell, John (Cathy) Cordell, Lucy (Ralph) Hemiller, Paul (Joe) Cordell, Cecelia (Paul) Leiseth, Patricia (Monte) Kramer, Alvin (Sara) Cordell; And many nieces and Nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his siblings Ralph, Howard, Kathleen, and Marty.
