Shaun Kirchen

Shaun was born on April 19, 1981 in Sioux Falls, the son of Steven and Victoria (Elsing) Tietz. He grew up in Sioux Falls and attended JFK Elementary School, Axtell Park Middle School and Washington High School.

He worked through job programs with Southeastern Behavioral Health, Volunteers of America and South Dakota Developmental Center.

Shaun was a very active participant in Special Olympics. He swam, played volleyball, softball and golf, and raced in track events. He most recently enjoyed playing Bocce Ball.

Shaun is survived by his grandfather, Mel Elsing; a sister, Amber (Scott) Lanpher, and their children, Jesse, Caiden, Abby, Mya, Willow and Stella; a brother, Evan Kirchen; and aunts and uncles, Sherry Carlton, Todd Elsing, Phil Gibson, Judy Higham, Deborah Willoughby, Thomas Kirchen and Victoria Sanders; and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Vicki; and grandparents, Delores Elsing, Phyllis Schmitt and Thomas Kirchen.
