Scott D. Brennan (66) of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on November 19, 2025, following a courageous battle with leukemia in the comfort of his home as his wife Patty lovingly cared for him and tenderly walked him home to Jesus. Scott was born in Chicago, IL.
Scott was preceded in death by his precious daughter, Carly, his father Lawrence, brother Terry, and maternal and fraternal grandparents.
In addition to his wife of 36 years Patty, he is survived by his beautiful children Melissa (Lenny), Joann (Kyle), Kelly, Trevor, precious granddaughter Avery, mother Arlene (Ron) and brothers and sisters Patrick, Erin (Mark), Shaun (Sue), Jeanne (Hugh), Brett (Lana), Matt, Michelle, Michael, Johnny and Susan.
Scott wore many hats in corporate America in the Chicago area in the field of information technology before shifting gears to owning his own business, CMIT Solutions of Fox Valley North until he sold the business in 2014. After the sale of the business and newly empty nesters, Scott and Patty relocated to Sioux Falls where he eventually became the store manager at Pet Smart on the west side of town. What he loved most about every job he had was the opportunity to build relationships with his staff, often going out of his way to give someone a ride home, provide a meal or even a Christmas tree for a family in need. It was his honor to serve others in the best way he could.
Scott’s greatest earthly honor was to be called husband, daddy and granddad, always feeling blessed for the gift of family. He dearly loved his children and as they were growing up, made sure to take each one on special trips, (adventures as he liked to call them), to create wonderful memories. Scott loved them all unconditionally with all his heart and wanted more than anything to know each of them as individuals. He prayed our family verse over each of them every night – “May the Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift His countenance upon you,
and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and walking in the outdoors, a variety of music and loved going to concerts, musicals and plays with Patty.
Scott was a man of strong faith and left this world knowing his destiny was with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
