Rodney Schoonover

Rodney was born February 10, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up on a chicken farm and a family run hotel in Florida before joining the army at age 18.

After the army Rod spent most of his career as a rural route USPS carrier in Minnesota. He was a loving father of to six children and a devoted grandfather to eight grandkids and two great grandkids. He loved sports and had a passion for coaching. Over many years and multiple sports, he extended encouragement to the numerous players he guided, including his youngest son Cody. He dedicated his life in service to God with his baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses demonstrating his deep love and strong faith in his God, Jehovah.

He is survived by his daughters: Jessica Hahn, Melanie Troumbly, Brittany Presley and his sons: Jeremy, Jason, and Cody Schoonover, along with many generations of grandkids and his brothers: Rick Schoonover and George Knuth and his sister Orie Schoonover.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ora Schoonover and Helen Knuth.
