Reese Hoyme Hays

Reese was born on September 11, 1997 in Vermillion, South Dakota, the son of Scott Hays and Jennifer Hoyme. He grew up in Sioux Falls a graduated from Lincoln High School. Reese participated in track and cross country.

After high school, Reese worked with his dad full-time. He had been working with his dad, finishing and pouring concrete since he was eight years old.

He liked riding dirt bikes, writing and reading, especially about history. Reese loved animals and training his dogs. He enjoyed trips with his family to the Black Hills.

Reese was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church and celebrated Confirmation as a member at Memorial Lutheran Church.

Resse passed away on December 31, 2025 in Sioux Falls. He will be remembered for his kindhearted and generous nature. When he was asked how things were going, Reese always replied “just peachy”.

He is survived by his parents, Scott Hays and Jennifer Hoyme; three siblings, Jefferey, Ethan and Cheyanne; grandparents, Kristie and Larry Hoyme; great grandma, Yvonne Jones; aunts, Lisa Schliske and Me’chell Hays, uncles, Lance Hays and Robert Hoyme; and several great aunts and uncles, and cousins. Reese was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Helen Hays, and an uncle, Mike Hays.
