Pamela Peterson

Pamela was born on May 1, 1961 in Sioux Falls to Kenneth and Violet (Schmig) Gilberts. She grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School. Pam enjoyed helping and interacting with people in her role as a customer service representative with several retailers over the years including Ace Hardware, Labelles and Lowes.

Pam married Sam Peterson on December 24, 2009 in Salem, South Dakota. They enjoyed camping together, motorcycle rides and cruising in the car. Pam also liked to cook and bake and was an avid viewer of several reality TV shows and the Halmark Christmas movies. She loved animals, especially dogs.

Pam was a very strong individual, always fighting through her health problems. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh.

Pam was 64 when she passed away on November 22, 2025 at Avera Mckennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

She is survived by her husband, Sam; four children, Chasity (Troy) Van Roekel, Justin Henning, Kyle (Megan) Henning, Sabrina Miller; seven grandchildren, Ashton, Jaedon, Logan, Camden, Hailey, Oliver, Weston, Morgan, Keegan and Tatumn; four siblings, Judy Jensen, Cheryl (Mike) Lynde, Dale (Sherry) Gilberts and Melvin Gilberts; her long-time friend, Kim, and many extended family members.

Pam is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Karen (David) Klinger and Bev Gilberts.
