Pamela Erickson

September 18, 1953 — April 24, 2024

Salem

Pamela Jean Erickson, age 70, died on April 24, 2024 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Pam was born on September 18, 1953 in Sioux Falls, SD to Delbert L. and Fern (Boterman) Erickson.

Pam’s greatest achievement was graduating from South Dakota South Eastern Vo-Tech with a CAD Drafting Degree. Pam was a natural artist and enjoyed drawing and painting. She filled her spare time crocheting, doing macrame, dabbling in jewelry, and rearranging the furniture in her apartment on a regular basis. She was also a talented seamstress.

In the last few years, Pam worked on filling her bucket list. Her one adventure of a lifetime was her visit to the Grand Canyon. Her last family trip was to Moab to watch her granddaughter get married.  Pam loved nature. She loved the sun, the plants, and the beauty. She used her love of nature as an inspiration to create beautiful artwork for her family and friends.

Pam was very close with her sisters. Her most treasured sister time was their camping trips.

Even though Pam loved spending time with her family, she had a favorite. Her beloved companion, Sammi. Although she swore she would never have another cat, Sammi found her and convinced her otherwise.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Stacey (Dane) Sundstrom of Sturgis, SD Tania (Tom Skoglund) Ross of Salem, SD, Amy (Michael Naber) Bender of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Adam Berreth of Missouri;  Grandsons, Taylor Tammi-Ross of Carlsbad, NM, Thor Sundstrom of Sturgis, SD, Dylan Kaschmitter of Sioux Falls, SD, Drake Sundstrom of Sturgis SD, Kjell Sundstrom of Sturgis, SD; granddaughters, Jordan (Ray) Pauwels of Rapid City, SD, Nicole Shanks of Sioux Falls, SD; Great-grandsons, Jaxon and Reese; her special cousin, Juanita Sabers; long time friend, Deb Pasley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert Erickson and Fern Fletcher; and her sisters Sharon Erickson and Janis Oldre.
