Opal Van Der Werff

Opal was born on Feb. 15, 1950 in Sioux Falls to Clifford and Margaret (VanRoekel) Van Der Werff.

She grew up in Sioux Falls and attended public school. Opal was married to Dan Thompson for a few years before divorcing. She married Norbert Batsch and they were together for many years before their union ended.

Opal worked at the Dixie Bake Shop for many years and then  worked at Augustana College. She also had a few years with Coyote Canyon and Scheels Sporting Goods.

Opal enjoyed going dancing at the VFW and going out to eat with friends. When she was living at the Meadows Assisted Living, Opal loved playing Bingo.

Opal is survived by her siblings, Rob, Mary, Carol, Pat, Jim, Tim and Sandy; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Gary and Jack
