On the 25th anniversary of 911 Margaret Elinor Kraft slipped away to join her late husband Alvin Leroy Kraft. After 16 years, the reunion of their souls and spirits are together rejoicing and praising in the presence of their risen Savior; the Lord Jesus Christ.
Margaret Elinor (Endicott) Kraft was born April 5, 1925 to Arthur Lowell Endicott and Rebecca Sevier(Gray) Endicott in SanDiego, CA . Margaret’s younger years were spent in California, New York, Tennessee, Florida, and Minnesota. She graduated from Glenwood High School in Minnesota and then furthered her education obtaining her LPN nursing license. Soon after a blind date, Margaret and Alvin were married in Glenwood, MN on January 15, 1950 and began raising their family. Three children: Robert; Susan; and Dorothy. In 1966 a permanent move was made to Sioux Falls, SD.
Through those years primarily as a homemaker she engaged in other activities. She enjoyed making ceramics, attending women’s events at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, reading novels, and occasional fishing trips with her husband.
Eventually she was unable to stay in her home several years after the passing of her husband. She initially entered assisted living at Bethany Home in Sioux Falls and then as Alzheimers continued to progress she entered Bethany Home -Brandon, their memory care unit, in Brandon SD.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Rebecca Endicott; her husband Alvin Kraft; and daughter-in-law Linda (Modica) Kraft. She is survived by her children Robert (Bob) Kraft-Sioux Falls; Susan (Joe) Williams-Sheldon IA; Dorothy (Dan) Peterson-Sioux Falls. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers. However, Alzheimers devastates not only the individual but the families also. If so moved one may contribute to Bethany Home-Brandon memory care unit in Brandon,SD or the SD Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association .
