Jilane Torgerson

Jilane was born on April 5, 1944 in Watertown, SD, the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Thompson) Jensen. He family was from Badger and later moved to Brookings.

Jilane and her parents came to Sioux Falls in 1959. Edwin and Jilane were married on April 14, 1962 at Grace Lutheran Church. They lived on an acreage near Worthing where they raised their children.

Jilane worked at Litton in Sioux Falls for several years and then worked at Home Federal Bank in Sioux Falls. In 1985, she and Ed moved to rural Lennox and in 2017, they moved into Sioux Falls. Jilane and Ed had a camper at Platte for over 20 years so they could enjoy going fishing. She enjoyed playing cards, dominos and Bollo with her family. Jilane also collected bells.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; two daughters, Jodean (John) Scott of East Bank, NC and Julie (David) Ritter of Prescott, AZ; grandchildren, Isaac (Kat), Bella, Alecia, Mark, Dawson, Taylor (Molly) and Rylee (Tessa); and two great grandchildren, Arthur and Lilly; two siblings, Lorrin Jensen and Doreen Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Jilane is preceded in death by her parents; a son, LeRoy; and brother, Leon; and a brother- in-law, Ronnie.
