Obituary

Jermiah Robert Langdon was born in 1980 to Jerry and Clara (Christian) Langdon. Jermiah passed away on February 23, 2026at the age of 45.

Jermiah grew up in Mitchell & Sioux Falls SD and he attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School. A graduate of South Dakota State University, Jermiah was a proud Briggs Scholarship recipient. His natural curiosity towards complex systems and processes led him to pursue studies in engineering, mathematics, and a Bachelor of Science in physics. Jermiah married Brooke in May of 2008. The couple were blessed with two daughters.

Jermiah served honorably for 27 years in the United States Army Reserves. During his distinguished career, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) with the 323rd Chemical Company. After almost 20 years with the 323rd, he transferred to be aCBRN Instructor with the 3/104th Training Batallion, then as First Sergeant for 561st Regional Support Group (RSG), and most recently as a Master Sergeant with the 510th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC). He was deeply respected as a leader who carried immense responsibility with dedication, discipline, and care for his soldiers.

Besides his military career, Jermiah worked as a salesperson at Best Buy, a manager at Best Buy Mobile, a Unit Administrator for the 323rd Chemical Co. & the 903rd ICTC, he (co-)owned a dry-cleaning business, worked as a personal trainer, and most recently as an inspector for OSHA.

Jermiah was a loving father and a loyal friend who gave generously of himself and stood steadfastly beside those he cared about. He loved to cook and share his creations with family and friends. His favorite holidays were the 4th of July & Halloween, and he could always be counted on for getting way too many fireworks and having unforgettable costumes.

Jermiah is survived by his wife, Brooke Langdon; his daughters, Brianna Langdon and Kaitlyn Langdon; his mother, Clara Langdon; his sister, Jenny (Chad) Carroll; his nephew, Brayden Carroll; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Langdon.
