James Wright

James Robert Wright, aged 71, passed away August 19th 2025 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, friends by his side.

Born January 4, 1954 in Emmetsburg Iowa to Robert and Phyllis Wright, Jim was the middle child of 3. He graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1972, then Northwestern College in Orange City in 1976 - later obtaining his master's degree. May 31, 1991 he married LaJeanne Cero.

Jim spent his life, as well as his career as a social worker in Sioux Falls, helping his friends, clients, and complete strangers.

He will be remembered for his strong faith, generous nature, and unique sense of humor. He was quick with a story in any situation with every person he met.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanne, sister Debra, brother John, and niece Megan.

He is survived by his two step daughters, a niece, two nephews, and many cousins.
