Jacqueline Kolsrud

August 11, 1963 — March 25, 2026

Sioux Falls

Jacqueline “Jackie” Kolsrud entered the world on her own terms on August 11, 1963, CA. At a young age, she and her family moved to Hills, MN, where she attended school and grew up.

She lived her life guided not by convention, but by her own unwavering sense of what felt right. Some called her stubborn; she preferred “quirky”—and that she was. She had a spirit that couldn’t be contained or predicted. Whether it was her unexpected sense of humor or her offbeat habits, she left an impression that was entirely her own. She didn’t try to fit in—and that was exactly what made her unforgettable.

She was the kind of person who stood her ground, even when it wasn’t easy or popular. If she believed in something, she held onto it tightly. Those who knew her understood that beneath her strong will was a deeply unique soul—someone who loved in her own way, laughed at unexpected moments, and lived a life that was unapologetically hers.

She leaves behind memories that are anything but ordinary.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kari Kolsrud of Beresford and Jada Kolsrud of Sioux Falls; and her grandchildren, Kalista Kolsrud, Levi Fitzgerald, Layne Gregory, and Jacek Cottrell.

She is also survived by her siblings, Rick Daniels, Karen Godfrey, Connie Sittler, Carol (Dennis) VanBatavia, Marvis Foster and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Harriet Kolsrud; her brothers, Tom Daniels, Bill Daniels, and Marvin “Jim” Kolsrud; and her nephews, Wes and Joe. She also leaves behind many special friends.

Family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
