Gregory Dudley Way

Gregory “Dudley” Way, age 76, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, at 8:01 PM.

Born on February 15, 1950, in Geneva, New York, to the late Martin and Marjorie Way, Dudley grew up with a deep devotion to faith, service, and learning. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1973 and his Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado, in 1976. Dudley went on to serve three years in the United States Army from 1983 to 1986, where he was stationed in Hawaii.

Dudley dedicated much of his life to spiritual leadership, serving faithfully as a pastor across many communities. He ministered to the Armour and Delmont UCC congregations in Armour and Delmont, South Dakota, from 1993 to 2000, and most recently served at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp, South Dakota, from 2000 to 2019, as well as Armour Community Church in Armour, South Dakota. Through his decades of ministry, he offered wisdom, comfort, and steady guidance to every congregation and community he touched.

Beyond his pastoral work, Dudley enjoyed drawing, target shooting, and spending time on the golf course. Known for his humility and sense of humor, he often lightheartedly described himself as "sweet, innocent, shy, and bashful."

He is survived by his beloved wife, LaDonna; his brother, Martin “Rusty” (Sharon); his children, Christian (Sarah), Marie (Jim), Noel (Brian), and Charity (Kyle); and his eleven cherished grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Madison, Connor, Andrew, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Isaiah, Harper, Timothy, Mason, and Rylee.

A celebration of Dudley’s life and legacy will be held on Friday, October 30th, at 4:00 PM at Friedens Reformed Church, located at 300 S. Dobson St., Tripp, SD 57376
