Donna Brown

April 7, 1940 — February 13, 2021

Family will hold a memorial visitation Saturday Feb. 20th at the funeral home from 4-5 pm.

On Saturday, February 13th, Donna Belle Brown, left this earth for heaven. She was a resident of Sioux Falls, SD and left behind 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Donna was born in Sioux City Iowa on April 7th, 1940 to Donald Lawrence Brown and Irma Louise Brown. She grew up in Winner, SD where her father and his brother, Ed, began the Brown Oil Company. In her childhood, she enjoyed exploring the outdoors and roller skating. She was an avid animal lover and usually had a dog or two at her side. She had an adventurous soul, which was put to good use during her days of herding cattle and sheep.

In her late teen years, a spark for motorcycles turned into a lifelong passion. She was a Harley Davidson lady, and proudly rode a bike to every state in the US. Her favorite route was Route 66, and she loved to share about her adventures with anyone who wanted to listen. “Lady Belle” or “Foxy B” were some of her coined nicknames, and she was the first Secretary for the Sioux Falls Harley Owner’s Group. She was well known for being the lady with the pink motorcycle, and she had the personality to match. Donna, or “Foxy B”, made friends wherever she went, and you felt like her lifelong friend no matter if you knew her for 20 seconds or 20 years.

Some of her favorite things were Neil Diamond, Shirley Temple, a big plate of chislic, and of course, talking. Her experience in sales and her skill at communication opened many doors of opportunity for her throughout her lifetime, from selling Sarah Coventry, to working at Citibank. She loved to talk, but she also loved to dance, and her spice for life was seen by all up until her final days.

Donna Belle was well loved and lived a full and adventurous life, her memory will be passed on and cherished for generations to come.
