Dee Elsing

March 18, 1938 — June 13, 2020

Delores “Dee” was born on March 18, 1938 in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of John and Jennie (Wessels) Renken. She grew up and attended school in Worthington, Minnesota. 

Dee married Milford Elsing on August 3, 1954 at Reading, Minnesota. After marriage, they lived at Rushmore, Minnesota until 1962 and then moved to Sioux Falls. Dee worked and Sioux Valley Hospital for many years in the laundry department and at the reception desk. She retired in 1999.

Dee enjoyed traveling with Milford and they went on many trips together. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dee liked listening to gospel and country music.

Dee was 82 years old when she passed away on June 13, 2020 at the Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband, Milford; two children, Sherry Carleton of Huntsville, Alabama and Todd Elsing of Sioux Falls; son-in-law, Phil Helton; four grandchildren, Shaun Kirchen, Amber (Scott) Lanpher, Tyler Elsing and Jordon Elsing; four great grandchildren, Jesse Hays, Caiden Hays, Abbygail Hays and Mya Lanpher; four siblings, John Renken, Irvin Renken, Marilyn Hagberg and Jeanette Harthun. Dee is preceded in death by her parents; three children, Roger, Victoria and Pam; and three siblings, Sandy, Harlen and Jim.
