Charles Kepford

Charles Eldon Kepford, born August 15, 1933 to Nadine and Eldon Kepford in Garretson SD, passed away on October 9, 2021 at the age of 88.

Charles always had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hobbies like hunting and fishing . He also had a love for animals. He always had a dog around and had fun feeding squirells from his hands. He also passed his love for animals down to his 7 children. He enjoyed fixing small engines and doing home repairs and chatting with neighbors. He was a Veteran of the Korean War.

During his first marriage to Jeanette, he welcomed his children Kathy, Mark, Bruce and Keith. During his 2nd marriage with Janet, she had her son Ward, from her first marriage whom Charles opened his heart and took care of him as he was his own. Then Janet and Charles had Angelia and Misti together.

Charles has been blessed with grandchildren throughout his life journey: David, who was born to Kathy, Jeremy and Adam were born to Mark, Alana, Morgan, Robyn and Abby were born to Bruce, Kassie, Brock and Karli, who were born to Keith, Zadon who was born to Angelia, and Cooper who was born to Misti. He also has 5 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by all of his children and wife, Janet Kepford. Charles was the youngest of seven siblings. In order of birth, oldest to youngest, his siblings were Earl, Edith, Lorraine, JoAnne, Buster and Jim,

There will be a funeral procession leaving from the funeral home at 9:30 am Friday, October 15 for the interment service that will be held 10 am, at the South Dakota State Veteran Cemetery
