Candace was born on December 26, 1966 in Sioux Falls to Fred and Darlene (Benson) Roelfsema. She grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School.
After high school, she worked a various jobs while taking training to become a certified nursing assistant. She married Leonard Stansbury in 1991 and they have always lived in Sioux Falls.
Candy worked in the healthcare field as a CNA and Medical Technician. She spent the majority of her years working as Waterford at All Saints, Dow Rummel Village and Southeastern Behavioral Health. She took an early retirement for health reasons.
She enjoyed drawing and listening to a wide variety of music, but was big fan of KISS.
Candy is survived by her husband, Leonard; two children, Cody Stansbury of Sioux Falls and Cory Roelfsema, both of Sioux Falls; a granddaughter, Cashlin and her mother, Toni Goeman; and a brother, Wade Roelfsema. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
