Bruce Wohlwend

Bruce LeVerne Wohlwend went to his heavenly home on May 18, 2025 at the age of 81.

Bruce was born August 22, 1943 in Barnesville, Minnesota to Ione (Lee) & LeVerne Wohlwend.

Bruce received his business degree at Wahpeton State College in Wahpeton, North Dakota.

He met the love of his life, Bonnie, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They had a whirlwind romance. He always teased that she proposed to him on the floor of his little black Volkswagen Bug! They were married within six months after meeting, on June 21, 1964 in Westhope, North Dakota.

In 1966 they welcomed their first child, Bruce Todd, followed by Brenda in 1968, Breahnna in 1978, and Brook in 1980.

Bruce and Bonnie made their home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was introduced to mobile home sales and later opened his own business, Western Housing, in 1974. He loved meeting people and helping them find their home. It has been said that Bruce could sell ice to an Eskimo!

Bruce had many gifts including his fierce love for family as well as his deep love and faith in Jesus, which he passed onto his children. Bruce loved adventure and loved to travel to see and experience new things. Bruce had the best sense of humor and loved to laugh. His hobbies were golfing, fishing, and playing cards… which he always seemed to win!

Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, his father, LeVerne, his mother, Ione, and his brother Gary.

He is survived by his son Bruce Todd Wohlwend (Dana), daughter Brenda Fiegen (Tad), daughter Breahnna Cleland (Nick), daughter Brook Rouillard (Duff); twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; several extended family members, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
