Bradley Schmidt

Bradley Maurice Schmidt, 55, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on May 4, 2025, at his home. 

Brad was born in Sioux Falls, SD, on October 9, 1969, to Myron (Mike) and Mary Lou Schmidt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls.

On May 5, 1987, Brad welcomed his beautiful daughter, Ashley Ann. He loved Ashley deeply, and they shared countless moments listening to music, talking about life, and making Brad’s famous egg rolls. Brad was passionate about riding his three-wheeler, spending many hours along Skunk Creek with his brother, nephew, daughter, and special friend Dave. He cherished these memories and loved to recount them. Brad also shared a special bond with his nephew, Chase, and was immensely proud of him. Music was a significant part of Brad’s life, with favorite bands including The Cure, Eminem, Gin Blossoms, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. His ornery grin and infectious laughter will remain forever in our hearts.

Brad will be deeply missed by those who loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ashley Schmidt; grandson, Dylan Styles; mother, Mary Lou Schmidt; father, Myron (Mike) Schmidt; sister, Brenda Potas; nephews, Connor (Payton) Potas, Chase (Ashlyn) Potas, and Reece (Mady) Potas; brother, Shawn (Jill) Schmidt; niece, Kaleigh Schmidt; and nephews, Samuel Schmidt and William Schmidt. All family members reside in Sioux Falls, SD.

Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents and his special aunt, Elaine Schmidt.
