Beverly Ericksen

Beverly Jean Ericksen (Oberg) passed away peacefully in her home in Sioux Falls on September 21, 2025 at the age of 90.

She was born on May 9, 1935 in Sioux Falls, the third of ten children born to Clifford and Mary Bell Oberg. Beverly was united marriage to Hubert Ericksen on December 21, 1950 in Pipestone, MN. Their journey together lasted 59 years.

Bev’s priority and passion has always been God and her family. She mastered the holidays with grace and making sure the decorations were perfect and everyone was happy fed. In her spare time, she had a talent for crocheting and enjoyed reading a variety of books, from biographies to religion. Bev had a soft spot for stray animals and provided a home to many dogs and birds.

She is survived by her children, Hubert B. Ericksen, Jr. (Joann) of North Mankato, MN, Jeannie Luther of Sioux Falls, Faith Ericksen of Colton, SD, Cheryl Ruth of Sioux Falls, Dawn Hawkins (Bill) of Colton, SD, Fran Ericksen of Sioux Falls, and Vickie Hemmingsen (Darrell) of Madison, SD; 20 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 35 great-great grandchildren; four siblings, Nancy West-Harmer of Sioux Falls, Patti Wilson of Sioux Falls, Clifford Oberg of Wisconsin and Robert “Bob” Oberg of Garretson, SD; and special mention to Candy Helmer.

Bev is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Mary Bell; her husband, Hubert; a daughter, Violet Bender; four grandchildren, Michael Whittier, Tonya Herron, Benjamin Ericksen and Teri Lynn Schoeberl; great grandchild, Maci Jayda Ruth; five siblings, Thelma Tomes, Mary Lou Graves, Delores “Dot” Nelson, Rose Dean and Caroline Oberg; sons-in-law, Jerry Luther and Henry “Hank”Bender”;
