Betty Lou Vermundson

Betty was born on March 11, 1942 in Webster, South Dakota, the daughter of MOrris and Sara (Leavitt) Mathiason. She grew up and attended school at Webster.

Betty met Don Vermundson at the local roller skating rink. They married on January 24, 1959 at St. Jon Lutheran Church in Webster and settled on the family farm near Pierpont. After a few years, they moved to an acreage near Hartford. Betty worked as a housekeeper for many years. In 1992, they moved to Sioux Falls.

Betty enjoyed collecting cook books and bibles and growing flowers. She was a member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls since 1992 and lead a bible study group for many years.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Larry) Giannini of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Anthony, Christian, Sidney and Josh; three sisters, Ginger, Cindy and Debbie. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and three children, Leslie, Mitchael and Lonnie; and three siblings, Cathy, Sandy and Mike.
