Alina Golubeva, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3rd, 2021, in Sioux Falls after a battle with lung cancer.
Alina was born on April 3rd, 1941 in Belarus, to Josif and Olga Kanarskij. As a young child, Alina and her parents moved to Lithuania, where she lived most of her life before moving to Sioux Falls in 2006.
She dedicated her life to raising her four children: Valerij Vikhorev (Alma) of Vilnius, Lithuania, Chris-Igor Vikhorev (Julie) of Sioux Falls, SD, Sergei Vikhorev (Aliona) of Vilnius, Lithuania, and Aleksandra-Olga Kelly (Derek) of Derby, UK. The joy of her life were her five grandchildren: Rokas, Thomas, Jessica, Gloria, and Lucas.
Alina was a devoted member of Light of the World Church in Sioux Falls and loved studying The Bible.
In her free time, Alina loved gardening, sewing, and caring for animals - cats, dogs, and even backyard squirrels.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 5th, 2021, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 6th, 2021.
