Jessie Larson

July 23, 1938 — October 10, 2009

Jessie Marie Larson was born July 23, 1938 at Nowata, Oklahoma, the daughter of James and Beulah (Harell) Donaldson. Her family moved to Sioux Falls in 1950. Jessie married Don Larson on October 23, 1954 in Canton and shared fifty-four years together. They were blessed with three children, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Jessie was a proud homemaker and loved spending her life serving Christ. She was the director of her church food pantry, held Bible study in her home and was a constant volunteer for anything her church family needed. Jessie enjoyed bargain shopping, playing many games including her favorite, Skip-bo, which she played with her grandchildren, and being outside fishing or working in her garden. Even as her health deteriorated, Jessie?s heart was still outdoors as she watched the squirrels and rabbits play outside her window. Jessie went home to heaven to be with Jesus on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Jessie is survived by her husband, Don; her children and their spouses, Donna and Ray Crites of Sioux Falls, Terry and Kristi Larson of Rapid City, Alan and June Larson of Sioux Falls; four siblings, Julius Donaldson of California, Julie Stuckey of Milbank, Roxie Grimes of Sioux Falls and Donnie Donaldson of Rapid City; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Beulah Donaldson, and four siblings, Beulah Pearl, Charles, Chester and Richard Donaldson. She was cherished by many and will be sorely missed.
