Ruth Frick

September 17, 1929 — December 22, 2009

Jesus called home his saint, our mother, Ruth Frick, unexpectedly on Tuesday December 22nd. Ruth was born September 17, 1929 at the Hansen family farm in the original log house outside of Clearbrook, MN to Hans Andrew and Thora (Thompson) Hansen. After completing high school in Clearbrook, Ruth spent 2 years at LBI (Lutheran Bible Institute) in Minneapolis MN and 2 years at Bemidji State Teachers College to receive her teaching certificate. Ruth moved to rural Beresford, SD to work as a house Mom at the Bethesda Children?s home. It was in Beresford she met her future husband, Lloyd Frick. They were married August 18th 1956. It is an understatement to say Ruth was a loving wife to Lloyd and mother to her 5 children. Her memory will be cherished by all those she took under her wings from children who were friends of her children or little ones she babysat and all those she mentored through the years. We are forever grateful to God for our loving Christian parents. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1989. She is survived by her son Michael(Terri Christine) Frick, East Liverpool, OH; and daughters Rachel(Brian) Sudenga, Valley Springs, SD; Gretchen(Byron) Alcorn, Knoxville, TN; Dawn(Jim) Frey, Sioux Falls, SD; Becky Moser, Boise, ID. Grandchildren Ryan (Jenni) Sudenga, Eric(Beth) Brynjulson, Jami Ausen, Tony(Beth) Brynjulson, Matthew Ausen, Alex Frick, Holli Frick, Evan Frey, Brianna Sudenga and Chandler Moser; Great Granddaughters Anita Jacobs, Lauryn Brynjulson and Jacey Brynjulson.Brothers H. Donald Hansen, Foston, MN and Rodney Hansen, Clearbrook, MN; Sisters Grace Johnson, Bemidji, MN and Ann Quarnstrom, Plymouth, MN; and Brother in Law Sam Frick, Little Rock, AR.
