Viola Hazel Ordal, age 93, died Wednesday morning at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls. Viola was born in Colton, SD, on May 8, 1917, to Gottlieb and Ella Egger. Viola attended school in Colton and graduated from High School in 1935. She married Conrad Gerhard (?Connie?) Ordal in Sioux City, IA on March 11, 1941. They were married for 54 years until Conrad?s death, March 6, 2006. Viola worked at Newberry?s Five & Dime Store in Sioux Falls for six years. She remained at home during her children?s school years and later returned to work at Aker?s China & Gift Shop. She worked at Aker?s for seventeen years until her retirement. She and her husband were charter members of Bethel Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Viola was fond of flowers and visits from members of her family. She also enjoyed socializing and playing cards with her fellow residents at Good Samaritan Village. Viola is survived by her two sons, Daniel E. (Brenda) of Sioux Falls and Douglas C. of Richland, WA; seven grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin, Christopher, Emily, Erik, Peter and Molly; a sister, Doris Amundson of Paso Robles, CA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Bassett of Jasper, MN and Shirley Egger of Colton, SD. In addition to her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Leo Glen & Duane Egger, and two sisters, Laverne Pederson & Florence Baxter.
