Florence was born on March 25, 1922 at near Ben Claire, South Dakota, the daughter of James and Nellie (Schat) Perkinson. She was raised on the family farm near Valley Springs. As a young women, Florence worked as a nanny and housekeeper. She also operated a caf in Sioux Falls with her sister and later worked as a seamstress for several years. Florence married Howard Hanson on June 2, 1947 at Larchwood, Iowa. They lived in Sioux Falls and raised their family. Florence worked as a nursing aide in the obstetrics ward at Avera McKennan for several years and then finished her twenty year career at the hospital in 1987 with the housekeeping department. Howard passed away in 1984. Florence was 88 years old when she passed away on October 29, 2010. Florence loved spending time with her family and having tea parties with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She was a member of the St. Therese Altar Society and the VFW Auxiliary. Florence is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Harold) Bloker, Janine (Robert) Wullstein, both of Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; two brothers, John and Robert Perkinson of Sioux Falls; brother-in-law, Frank Kadinger of Colorado; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Linda Marie in 1963, five sisters, Margie, Mary, Katherine, Felisitas "Sid"and Viola, and a brother, James, Jr.
