Rodney Javers

Rodney was born May 31, 1950 at Lennox, SD. He grew up at Lennox and Sioux Falls and attended school at Sioux Falls. He served in the Navy and then returned to Sioux. Rodney and JoAnn Bachtell were married June 7, 1970 and raised 3 children. He worked for John Morrell for 25 years, retiring in 2002 due to his health. Rodney liked building cars and models and he was an honorary member of the Jalopy Kings car club. He was a very dedicated Grandpa. He had fun taking his kids and grandkids shopping and for a ride in the car. He enjoyed his dog, Gizmo. Grateful for sharing in his life are JoAnn; his children, Tim (Sheila) Javers, Chantel Javers, Terry Javers, all of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Victoria and Dylan; mother-in-law Elaine Bachtell, 2 sisters, nieces, nephews and several extended family and friends. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Iona, nephew, Vern Estenson, brother-in-law, Jim Bachtell, father-in-law, Orville Bachtell. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the VA Hospital for their care.
