Roger Eske

April 22, 1954 — December 26, 2010

Roger A. Eske was born to Wilmer and Normae Eske at Conde, SD. He graduated from Watertown High School. Roger joined the Air Force. He was an aircraft maintenance specialist, receiving honorable discharge from the Air Force and also from the Air Force Reserve. Roger had many talents and interests ranging from his cars and trucks, to the freightliners he owned. He enjoyed competitive racing. His registered herd of Longhorn cattle, some of which he won Grand Championship awards, were also a great memory for Roger. He enjoyed the mechanical and engineering aspect of the building of projects from start to finish. Roger was a person of integrity. His sincere personality and friendly smile resulted in many friends. Roger was always positive in thoughts, words and deeds. He always took the time to listen and talk to his friends while having coffee. He was never judgmental. Roger enjoyed many years with the ever changing scenery, traveling the United States, Canada and Mexico as an over the road driver, always receiving awards for his safe driving record. Roger also had been a commercial truck driving instructor. Roger is survived by his father, Wilmer Eske, sister, Cheryl (Virg) Hyronimus of Sioux Falls, SD., sister, Bonnie (Bob) Goossen of Renner, SD., and 1 niece and 3 nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Normae Eske and both grandparents. Roger went to be with the Lord at 11:20 am on December 26, 2010 at the VA Hospital, at the age of 56. Cremated remains will be placed at the scattering garden at Mount Pleasant Cemetery with military honors.
