LaVeeda Wiese

September 5, 1928 — October 29, 2011

LaVeeda M. Wiese was born September 5, 1928 at Sutherland, Iowa to Raymond and Attie (Cooper) Stanley. She graduated from Hartley High School in 1944. LaVeeda was united in marriage to Burdette Wiese on July 3, 1947 and they raised six children. She worked at the Town Club in Sioux Falls and then began working at Minnehaha Country Club. She enjoyed 21 years as Assistant Manager and Catering Manager. In recent years she worked part-time in the office at Carrington Court Apartments. LaVeeda was 83 years old when she died after a long battle with cancer on October 29, 2011 at home surrounded by family. LaVeeda was a voracious reader. She enjoyed every opportunity to travel visiting family and friends. She loved sports and liked nothing better than to watch a good football game. Grateful for sharing her life are her children, JR and (Mary Bonacker) Wiese of Conway, AR, Cathy (Bobby) Jorgensen of Lennox, SD, Kirby Wiese of Sioux Falls, SD, Lory (Greg) Ugland of Sioux Falls, SD, Kristy Albers of Lennox, SD, Kelly and (Dori) Wiese of Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren, Jenna (Felix) Severino, Jadon Wiese, Cory (Denise) Jorgensen, Casey (Alissa) Ugland, Travis Ugland, Adam Albers, Brandon Albers, Tim Wiese, Brianna (Drew) Strout and Alex Wiese; 3 great grandchildren, Abby Jorgensen, Brittany Jorgensen and Summer Ellis; a sister, Diane Anderson of Hartley, IA; brothers, Frank (Cheryl) Stanley of Snellville, GA and Don (Susie) Stanley of Hartley, IA; sister-in-law, Marion Stanley, Spencer, IA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Attie Stanley, brother Weber Stanley and sister, Sharlee Randolph. We extend a special remembrance to her friends at Carrington Court Apartments and to her faithful pet and companion, Clio. Our mother has always wanted to share the gift of life. She did so by donating her body to USD in Vermillion, SD for research.
