LeMoyne Martell

LeMoyne Lloyd Martell was born January 10, 1932 in Yankton SD to parents Alexander Paul Martell and Anna (Kruger) Martell. He lived in Menno, SD until 4th grade then Parker, SD. He graduated from Parker High School in 1950. LeMoyne married Marcene Vietor August 20, 1950. They raised 3 children Leno, Monte, and Jeannie. Marcene died in 1987. LeMoyne married Judy Wellnitz May 25, 1988. They have lived in Big Stone City since 1995. LeMoyne worked at John Morrell and Company for 35 years until his retirement in 1985. LeMoyne was an avid fisherman and hunter until health problems prevented him. He also enjoyed gardening, watching sports and his little dog Maddie. LeMoyne is survived by his wife, Judy; son Monte (Shirley); daughter, Jeannie (Greg) Ammon; step daughters Cathy Pond and Konni Tunney; brother Lewis, 11 grand children and a host of relatives and friends. LeMoyne was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marcene, his son, Leno, 3 sisters, Ramona, Agnes, and Ellen, and his grandson Wyatt Ammon.
