Delila Goodroad

Delila Goodroad passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home on North Minnesota Avenue, Sioux Falls, on Feb. 5, 2013 Delila Maxine Boettcher, daughter of Mary (Dixon) Boettcher and George Boettcher, was born October 14, 1927 in Lyman, South Dakota. She attended country grade school there until 1941. Then moved with her family to Bruce, South Dakota. Where she finished grade school and graduated from Bruce High School in 1946. She married Duane Goodroad on December 3, 1946. They lived for a short time in Brookings, SD. Then moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1951, where she worked as a bookkeeper for several years. She also enjoyed working on ceramics and crafts. She was a loving grandmother She was a member of East Side Presbyterian Church and VFW Post No. 628 Auxiliary. Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Jerry and his wife, Cathy, from New River, AZ, and her daughter, Sherry, and her husband, Marlin Beers, from Lake Wilson, MN, three grandchildren Shannan, Jennifer and Jeffrey, six great-grandchildren, Brittani, Tommee Sue, and Cole, Ellie, Anna, Adriana, and also several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Duane Goodroad, her parents, George and Mary Boettcher, two sisters, Mary Jane Moke and June Albers; and four brothers, Lloyd, Gaylord, Arnold, and Donald Boettcher.
