Gertrude was born April 13, 1929 in Canistota, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Amelia (Harms) Borman. She grew up in Canistota and graduated from high school. Gertrude married Paul Rosenquist on September 26, 1948 in Canistota. They farmed for five years before moving to Sioux Falls in 1953. Along with raising her family, Gertrude worked as a cook at McKennan Hospital for over ten years. Gertrude and her husband, Paul were members of Faith Lutheran Church for many years. She enjoyed Yahtzee, Canasta ,puzzles, cross stitching and baking in her free time. Grateful for sharing in her life are her children, Robert Rosenquist Sr. and his wife, Damaris, Lee Rosenquist and Jeanine May; 11 grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Michael, Jodi, Melissa, Guy, Joshua, Troy, Jacob, Bradley, Angela and Carla; 17 great grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashlyn, Angelica, Devin, Cameron, Daniel, Kamryn, Gavin, Grace, Jacob Jr., Ryley , Parker, Morgan, Isaac, Jocelyn , Alexander and Sylvia. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Jessica Rosenquist; an infant sibling; two brothers, Bill and Fred; three sisters, Bertha Arends, Emma Engel and Edna Shelter; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Rosenquist.
