Palmer Karli

Palmer was born July 26, 1918 on the family farm near Garretson, South Dakota, the son of Adolph and Emily (Johnson) Karli. He graduated from Garretson High School. Bud married Wanda Scott August 26, 1943 at Beaver Valley Lutheran Church. They farmed near Brandon and Corson for 10 years. Bud managed the Corson Elevator for 13 years and then worked for Tri-State Insurance. He was a an inspector and field engineer for the insurance company until he retired. During his retirement, Bud kept himself busy helping other farmers, working at the golf course and woodworking. Bud has been a resident at Bethany Meadows in Brandon since 2006. Bud passed away August 12, 2013 at the Dougherty Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Bud sang with the Karli Brother?s Quartet and later in the Beaver Valley Lutheran Church choir and the Norse Glee Club. Bud is survived by his children, Wade (Barbara) Karli of Faribault, MN, Lane (Ranae) Karli of Sioux Falls and Kerry (Jeff) Fisher of Alliance, NE; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca LeVake, Scott Karli, Jonathan Karli, Jennifer Karli-Layne, Craig Karli, Leah Karli and Jason Fisher; 8 great grandchildren, Kate Layne, Palmer, Hadassah, Bridger and Landon LeVake, Jamison Karli, Nevaeh Fisher and Kash Horton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda in 2008; three brothers and a sister, Melvin, Leonard, Francis and Mildred Bergin.
