Cordellia Franken

August 15, 1928 — December 1, 2013

Cordellia was born August 15, 1928 at Sinai, South Dakota, the daughter of Bernard and Hazel (Quam) Ericksen. She grew up near Sinai where graduated from high school. She married George Franken on November 19, 1949 at Hendricks, Mn. They settled in Madison, Sd. where Cordellia worked for Winks Egg Plant for a number of years. In 1970. Cordellia and George moved to Sioux Falls. Cordellia began working at Good Samaritan Luther Manor in the laundry and housekeeping department. She retired after 17 years at the nursing home. Cordellia was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Madison. She enjoyed embroidery and solving crossword puzzles. Grateful for having shared in her life are her children and spouses, Dennis and Linda Franken of Sioux Falls, Randy and Hennie Franken of Norfolk, WV, Craig and Karen Franken of Sioux Falls, Georgianne and Jeff Goldie of Lennox; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two siblings, Curtis Ericksen of Jacksonville, NC and Phyllis Stensgaard of San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George in 2003; two siblings, Hubert and Mavis; and two grandsons, John and Chris.
