Carol Holmes

Carol Ann was born June 4, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa to Vern and Hazel (Shreve) Smith. Carol married Francis Bud Holmes on April 10, 1951. She was a homemaker and they raised three children, Linda, Michael and Lori. She was a very loving and caring mother. Carol was an active member of the Word of Life Pentecostal Church in Sioux Falls where she was a teacher for many years. She loved baseball and was a fervent fan of the Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed sharing her baked goods with friends and neighbors and crocheting blankets that she donated to the needy. She also enjoyed traveling. Carol was 77 years old when she passed away on February 18, 2014 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Carol is survived by her children, Linda Holmes Dorsett, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Michael Holmes, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Lori (Dan) Holmes Derby, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a sister, Roberta Stearns, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Smith; a sister, Marie Townsend; and Francis in 2009.
