Joyce Kock

Joyce was born April 6, 1934 to Lorence and Fern (Harmer) Jaqua at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She graduated from Washington High School and went to beautician school. She married Roger Kock on March 27, 1954. When her children were school age, Joyce went to work at Sioux Valley Hospital in the central processing department where she was employed for 23 years. She then worked for Hy Vee on 26th and Sycamore part time. Joyce lived at Dow Rummel Village for a few years and kept herself busy volunteering to work in the gift shop. She moved to Rapid City in January of 2014. Joyce enjoyed sewing, reading, word puzzles, Sudoku, gardening and watching shows on the Hallmark Channel. She liked pets, especially cats, and is fondly remembered for her cooking and baking skills. Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Starla (Bob) Goodrich, Rapid City, SD; two sons, Larry Kock, Davis, SD and Daniel (Nancy) Kock, Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband July 8, 1995, and great grandchild, RaeLynn.
