Ruby Perry

Ruby was born September 23, 1915 near Northwood, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Sophia (Nessett) Nelson. She was raised at Northwood and attended high school. Ruby married Harold Perry on March 19, 1932 at Albert Lea, Minnesota. They lived in Northwood until 1944 when they move to Sioux Falls. Ruby worked at several retail stores in Sioux Falls including Fantles, J.C. Penney and Wards. Harold passed away in 1992. Ruby lived at The Inn on Westport for a few years before becoming a resident at the Good Samaritan Center, Sioux Falls. Ruby was 98 years old when she died September 9, 2014. She enjoyed knitting and crochet. Ruby was a member of Eastside Lutheran Church for 70 years. She also was active with the Red Hat Society for many years. She is survived by her daughters, Joan Schneiderman of Sioux Falls and Marlene Simpler of Seaford, Delaware; three grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; four siblings, Clifford, Mervin, Clayton and Alice; and a grandson, John Schneiderman. Memorials may be directed to any charity of the donors choice.
