Lori Mayers

Lori was born on June 12, 1964 to Stanley and Esther Hixson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Lori spent her entire life in Sioux Falls. Loris life was filled with trips down rocky roads. She fell many times and had many battle scars, but always got up wounded but willing to fight the battle again. On August 17, 1992 she gave birth to a son. Knowing where she was at this time in her life, Lori made the choice to give him a better life and placed him for adoption. Mark and Cindy Ulmer of Menno, Sd. became his parents and his named changed from Matthew to Tyler. Tyler and Lori met when he was 17 years old and stayed connected until her death. He was always in her thoughts and heart. Lori loved cats. She collected Precious Moments and other trinkets. She liked to cook, clean her house and if you knew of a good party, she would be there. Lori married Jeff YabbI Mayers on April 21, 2006 in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas. He was the wind beneath her wings. When Jeff died, Lori lost her reason for living and died from a broken heart. She passed away September 28, 2014 in Sioux Falls. Those left behind are a son, Tyler Ulmer of Tea, SD; two sister, Lisa Jensen of Las Vegas, NV and Sharon Niemeyer of Inwood, IA; a niece, Tracy (Billy) Burrell of Inwood. Those who passed before are her parents; a brother, Robert Hepp; brother-in-law, Case Niemeyer; and her husband, Jeff on July 24, 2014.
