Wilmer "Tub" Eske

March 25, 1925 — November 16, 2014

Wilmer Tub Eske was born March 25, 1925 at Groton, SD. He lived and attended school in that area. Wilmer married Normae Swain October 17, 1945 at Webster, SD. They spent several years attending to their land, cattle, buffalo and horses in Spink, Clark and Codington counties. They also owned Sioux Trailer and The Diamond Bit Company along with rental properties. After venturing to the country of Iran under government contract, where they lived for up to two years, they lived in New Mexico before settling in Sioux Falls. Rodeo and horses were enjoyed by Wilmer as a participant and the sport of bull riding as a spectator of which he could quote all the names and stats of the events which he followed throughout his lifetime. This resulted in Wilmer forming true lifetime friendships. Wilmer enjoyed and spent many hours reading. He had a talent for wit and writing. He wrote memoirs of his life, which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Another favorite pastime of playing cards on his computer or with his friends was enjoyed. He was very supportive of several charities and ministries. Wilmer is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Virg) Hyronimus of Sioux Falls and Bonnie (Bob) Goossen of Renner; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Wilmer was proceeded in death by his spouse Normae Eske; his son Roger Eske; his parents Victor and Ruth (McLain) Eske; an infant sister Verda Eske; his brother Wyman Eske; his sister in law Maude Eske; his sister Ardis Mills.
