Marlene Jeanette Urben, 82, of Sioux Falls SD, passed away Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Dougherty hospice house in Sioux Falls. She was born July 4, 1932 in sioux falls, the daughter of Henry and Bernice Michael. She grew up in the Sioux Falls area. She graduated from Washington high school, and attended Augustana college. She met her husband Eugene Urben and they were married August 1,1953 in Sioux Falls. They were married 61 years at the time of her passing. They had their first son, Russell, in 1954, they adopted their second son, Rick in 1964. Marlene loved her children with and was a devoted mother, and loving wife.She loved country western music and would go to concerts, she got to see Patsy Cline JohnnyHorton, and Johnny Cash., she loved to talk about her life and her family.They enjoyed camping and travelled all over on family vacations. She made a living being a seamstress out of her home, she was very proud of her wedding dresses she made, she was a member of the Brandon historical society for several years, she loved to see 3 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren. She always had a hug and a smile for all her kids and especially looked forward to seeing her great grandkids. Marlene is survived by her brother, Jerome (Donna) Michael of Sioux Falls, Sd; husband, Eugene Urben of Sioux Falls; sons, Russell (Tracy) Urben of Sioux Falls, Rick and significant other, Cindy, of Sioux Falls Sd; grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Bartelt of Baxter, Mn Ashley (Steve) Surikov of Sioux Falls, Sd, Kayla Urben of Dodge City, Ks; 5 great-grand children, Corey, Brady, McKenzie, Alex and Aiden. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bernice Micheal, grandparents, and in laws Fred and Grace Urben.
