Betty was born Feb. 7, 1931 in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Harold and Irene (Heasley) Brewer. She grew up in Sioux Falls. Betty married Eugene Campbell on Feb. 15, 1949 at the Salvation Army in Sioux Falls. Gene passed away in 1985. Betty developed an illness around the age of 74 and had many battles with pneumonia. She was fighting pneumonia at the time of her death. She was 85 years old when she passed away April 14, 2016 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. We know that she will be happy to be with Gene as she missed him terribly. Now they will be able to dance and go fishing in heaven. She was a very loving and strict woman with old fashioned values and was the backbone of the family. She kept all of the children in-line and made sure everyone stayed in touch with each other. Betty was a devoted mother and will be missed by many people that loved her very much. She enjoyed working on plastic canvas art, going to church and fishing. Betty loved reading mystery novels. She volunteered at the Salvation Army and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Betty is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Gustafson of Sioux Falls, Gene (Delilia) Campbell of Renner and Wes (Kim) Campbell of Des Moines, IA; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three siblings, Mabel Holbrook of Sioux Falls, Lorraine (George) Breen of Baltic and Leroy Brewer of Gainsville, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Maxine Miller and Luetta Feekas. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
