Betty Turgeon

Betty was born August 29, 1921 at Hot Springs, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Maragret (Langen) Husten. She attended country school and graduated from high school at Hot Springs. She came to Sioux Falls took business classes at Sioux Falls College. Betty also worked at Morrells for a short time. Betty married Richard Turgeon on November 15, 1946. They lived at Terre Haute, IN and Devils Lake, ND before settling in Sioux Falls. Betty was a faithful member at the Cathedral of St. Joseph Parish in Sioux Falls. She had a green thumb and grew many flowers and plants at her home. She enjoyed traveling to California and the Black Hills to visit family. She loved to hunt and fish and spent many summers fishing in Canada. She is survived by her children, Gerald of Florida, Patrick of Sioux Falls and Teresa (Russ) Larsen of Sioux Falls; two grandchildren, Krystal Opestedahl and Chelsea Boyd; and three great grandchildren, Preston, Donovan and Clyde. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Michael, and two siblings. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Thursday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Friday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls.
