Daniel was born on April 22, 1960 at Jackson, Minnesota, the son of Lyle and Donna (Dorskie) Dilley. He grew up at Jackson where he enjoyed playing football, baseball and hockey. Dan had a passion for archeology, astronomy, oceanography and history. If you entered his bedroom, you would find yourself in a small museum filled with collectable coins, telescopes, rocks, fossils and unusual artifacts. After graduating from Jackson High School in 1979, he attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Dan graduated from Westminster College and then entered Oklahoma City Law School, graduating in 1986. He spent several years as a Para Legal instructor at the Stenotype Institute in Sioux Falls and also practiced law for several years. In his adult years, Dans love of history, literature and contemporary books continued as he had an extensive library. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Dan spent a lot of his time with his dog, Casey, and his best friend, Hal. Dan is survived by his mother, Donna; a sister, Amy (Jeff); a niece, Amber(Rod); nephews, Joshua and Jarrett; a sister, Elizabeth (Tom); nephews, Matt and Ben; two aunts, Roberta and Dee (Duane); six cousins, Anne Marie, Justin, Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Deborah; two great nieces, Reese and Zoe; and special friend, Hal Vorachek. He is preceded in death by his father, Lyle in 2011. Private services will be held.
