Arlene Kosberg

Arlene was born on March 8, 1925 at Astoria, South Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Christina (Reppe) Berg. She graduated from Hendricks High School in 1944. Arlene married Harvey Kosberg on August 14, 1945 at Hendricks, Minnesota. They moved to Sioux Falls in 1946 where they raised their daughters. Arlene worked as a cashier for many movie theaters in Sioux Falls having started at the Strand Theater and moving to the Hollywood, State, Empire and Carmike Theaters before she retired in 2012. Harvey passed away in 1996. Arlene was 92 years old when she passed away on July 15, 2016 at the Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls. She was a member of Eastside Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and a past member of the VFW and DAV Auxiliaries. Arlene enjoyed watching tv game shows and was a Minnesota Twins fan. Arlene is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Jim) Knopf and Brenda Barker of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren, Mark Knopf, Rob Knopf, Scott Knopf, Chad Barker and Ryan Barker; five great grandchildren, Kelsey Lockwood, Jade Knopf, Milena Knopf, Kristy Knopf and Cody Knopf; and four great-great grandchildren, Ahna, Denver, Aiden and Riley; sister-in-law, Ann Rockman; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey; two brothers, Omar and Harvey; and a son-in-law, Johnny Barker.
